Short Term
Coursework includes the development of a student's ability to create, store, communicate, exchange, and use information to solve technical issues related to information support and services, interactive media, network systems, programming and software development, information security, and other emerging technologies based on the selected area of study.
Graduates should qualify for entry-level positions with businesses, educational systems, and governmental agencies that rely on computer systems to design and manage information. The program will incorporate the competencies of industry-recognized certification exams.
The Cybersecurity CCNA certificate prepares students for the networking security field as network security technicians, network administrators, or network security engineers. The courses offered are based on Cisco Networking Academy and CompTIA Security+ (Plus) course material and prepare a student for three certifications, the Cisco , Cisco , and .
The first two courses (CTI-120 and SEC-110) provide students with a foundation in networking and security. SEC-110 Security Concepts introduces the concepts and issues related to securing information systems and prepares students to take the CompTIA Security+ certification (SY0-601).
The following three courses (NET 125, 126, and 225) build on network fundamentals, network access, IP connectivity, IP services, security fundamentals, and automation and programmability. The courses help prepare students to take the CCNA certification (200-301 CCNA), and students may earn discount vouchers for that exam.
The last course, SEC 160, focuses on cybersecurity operations – monitoring, detecting, investigating, analyzing, and responding to security events to protect systems from cybersecurity risks, threats, and vulnerabilities. At completion, students may earn discount vouchers for the CyberOps certification exam (200-201 CBROPS). Students should have fundamental networking and security knowledge before taking this course.
This certificate is intended for participants with a prior understanding of computer hardware and software.
